Dizwell Informatics - Installing Oracle

Dizwell Informatics - Installing Oracle: "Installing Oracle

Oracle installations used to be nightmare experiences, and it was always touch-and-go whether they would complete successfully or not. But 10g (even, to a large extent, 9i) has made all those hours spent editing makefiles a thing of the past: mostly, these days, it's just a quesiton of being patient and the job succeeds without pain.

However, there are still good and bad installation practices, and in an effort to document some good ones, I've centralised all my installation articles -written over many years- here. There will eventually be articles for Oracle 9i and 10g, on Windows and various Linux distros. New articles (such as the one describing Oracle 10g on Suse 10) will be presented in the new 'house style', but older ones may appear in a variety of guises, including the occasional PDF download.

Whatever the format, just click the appropriate link below (or select the item from the menu at the left) to be taken to the relevant documentation, and have fun! "
